Former Seahawks running back Marshawn Lynch is a man of many talents outside of football.
And now you can add part owner to a soccer team to his list.
On Friday, Lynch joined an ownership group to be a part of the Oakland Roots of the USL Championship.
An Oakland native, Lynch has been a prominent advocate for the city and has been helping out his community for some time now.
Lynch retired from the NFL after the 2015 season, but made his return to join the Oakland Raiders in 2017 and 2018.
The Roots were founded in 2018 and have only played their first two seasons in the National Independent Soccer Association.
In September, the announced they would be joining the USL Championship - the second tier of soccer behind the MLS.
The Roots season opens on May 9.
