Former Seattle Seahawk Marshawn Lynch is still a very busy man.
On Thursday, Lynch made the announcement that he has officially joined the MMA league PFL as an investor and brand ambassador.
"I'm really on that owner hype right now, ya feel me," Lynch said in a statement. "Pro teams, leagues, companies and brands, I'm wit it. Ownership allows you to be closer to the action, to keep learning and making a difference. At the end of the day, the PFL opportunity is another blessing, that's all I can really say. PFL is the future of MMA and it's always a win-win when you can work with like-minded folks."
Lynch joins Kevin Hart and Wiz Khalifa as the latest celebrity to partner with the league.
The financial investment was not disclosed with Lynch, but the PFL has stated that there will be a “BeastMode MMA Fighter of the Night” for ever card.
There will also be a apparel collection involved as well.
Lynch has been a fan of the MMA world for some time now. During his playing days, he would do MMA training as part of his workout. He also has appeared in a live commentator for Karate Combat in 2020.
The PFL league has a regular season and a playoff format, which is much different in MMA like the UFC.
The regular season has been in full swing since last week in Atlantic City.
The PFL’s second event of 2021 will air this Thursday on ESPN2.
