Another job is now open in the Seattle Seahawks organization.
According to NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero, the Jacksonville Jaguars will Seahawks special teams coordinator hire Brian Schneider at the same position.
Schneider has been with the Seahawks since 2010 when Pete Carroll arrived on the scene.
Early on, the Seahawks special teams unit was among the best in the league.
But recently, those numbers have dipped. Since 2016, the Seahawks special teams unit only ranked in the top-10 once.
Before the 2020 season started, Schneider was away from the team for personal reasons, leaving the duties to Larry Izzo.
Schneider returned in November, but Carroll hinted to reporters that Izzo was going to stay in the coordinator role.
While Schneider leaves the position vacant, reports are already out that Izzo will assume those duties going forward.
