It’s been one week since the Seattle Seahawks played their (unexpected) final game of the 2020-2021 season. While many believed the Seahawks would defeat the Los Angeles Rams in the NFC Wild Card round of the playoffs last weekend, fast forward to today and it’s the Rams at Lambeau Field facing the Green Bay Packers in the NFC Divisional round.
Well, it didn’t go so well for the Rams as the leagues No. 1 defense couldn’t slow down MVP candidate Aaron Rodgers and the league’s No. 1 offense. Like the Seahawks, the Rams’ season is now over and there are no more NFC West representatives in this year’s playoffs and Super Bowl hunt.
But let’s rewind real quick to the final moments of the Seahawks-Rams Wild Card matchup.
Tough as it was to watch for Seahawks fans, Rams corner Jalen Ramsey and wide receiver Robert Woods made it clear to those watching at home where they could find the Seahawks next week: in Cancun, Mexico.
Ironically, Russell Wilson met with the media over zoom from Mexico but that’s beside the point.
Now, after Los Angeles’ 32-18 loss to Green Bay, a few Seahawks have returned the invitation, including safety Jamal Adams, defensive tackle Jarran Reed and safety Quandre Diggs:
Let’s just say this wasn’t a “friendly invite” and we don’t expect the two teams to post pictures of their extended vacations together.
It’s typically a good matchup when Seattle and Los Angeles meet up twice a year in regular season play. These two teams know one another well making the outcome unpredictable. But Los Angeles had the upper hand this season, lasting one more game in the postseason over Seattle.
Can't wait for the next matchup in 2021.
