It was the summer of Jadeveon Clowney.
The three-time Pro Bowl defensive end has been on the free agent market since March 18 and nearly six months later, Clowney has finally found his new NFL home with the Tennessee Titans.
But months before the Seattle Seahawks, as well as the Philadelphia Eagles, Baltimore Ravens, New Orleans Saints, Tennessee Titans, and Las Vegas Raiders made a pitch to acquire Clowney’s services, EA Madden NFL knew Clowney was headed to Nashville.
A video surfaced on the Madden NFL video game’s TikTok account in March, which featured multiple free agents who had their jerseys switched to a new team they had signed or been traded to.
The most interesting part of the video was when Clowney, who played for Seattle in 2019, switched from a Seahawks uniform to a Titans home navy blue jersey. Clowney wore No. 91 and the post included the words “@nfl free agency has been WILD!!”
So, one of the biggest moves in NFL free agency was accidentally spoiled by a TikTok video six months ago? Oops.
Clowney was traded to Seattle last year after five seasons with Houston. The former No. 1 overall pick registered just 3.0 sacks in his lone season with the Seahawks.
