Russell Wilson added another notch to his belt in Week 3.

The Seattle Seahawks QB was 27-of-40 for 315 yards and tossed five TDs while making NFL history for the most touchdown passes in a team’s first three games with 14 total.

After stopping New England’s Cam Newton on the final play in Week 2, Seattle escaped another nail-biter Sunday when Dak Prescott heaved a pass into the endzone and it was intercepted by Ryan Neal, a three-year practice squad player who was called up to the active roster less than 24 hours before kickoff.

The Seahawks walked away from CenturyLink Field 3-0. Up next, Seattle will face the Miami Dolphins at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens. The Dolphins have a newfound confidence after a 31-13 decision against the Jaguars during Thursday Night Football.

In Mike Florio’s power rankings for NBC Sports’ Pro Football Talk, the Seahawks are up a spot to No. 2, trailing the Kansas City Chiefs for the NFL’s throne.

Pete Prisco of CBS Sports has Seattle sitting at No. 5 this week, up one spot from Week 3. Prisco shows some love for Wilson’s early-season MVP run, but has some questions about the Seahawks defense.

“There is no doubt Russell Wilson is the MVP right now. He has 14 touchdown passes in three games and with his defense he might need to throw 60.”

Despite a victory over Dak Prescott and the Cowboys, ESPN has the Seahawks once again at No. 3 in this week’s NFL Power Rankings. Brady Henderson admits his preseason prediction that Seattle’s secondary would return to elite status with the additions of Quinton Dunbar and Jamal Adams was wrong.

“The Seahawks are 3-0 despite allowing 434 passing yards to Atlanta, 397 to New England and 461 to Dallas on Sunday. There have been some mitigating factors. They've faced a lot of passes with opponents trying to come back from large deficits, they haven't gotten enough help from the pass rush and they've been hit with injuries, including one that ended safety Marquise Blair's season and another that kept Dunbar out of the Cowboys game. But there's still too much talent to be getting gashed through the air the way they have been."

Around the NFL Writer Dan Hanzus ranked Seattle at No. 5 in NFL.com’s Week 4 Power Rankings, the same as last week. Hanzus praised Wilson, who put the Seahawks back in the lead 36-31 after the Cowboys led by 1 earlier in the fourth quarter.

He wasn’t surprised by Wilson’s late-game brilliance.

“What does it say about Russell Wilson that we had no doubt he would put the Seahawks back in the lead after they fell behind late in the fourth quarter against the Cowboys? He's reached that special place as a quarterback -- where success isn't just likely, it's basically a given. Wilson took Seattle 75 yards on eight plays, capped by a 29-yard touchdown pass to DK Metcalf, Wilson's fifth of the game. That's 14 in three weeks for Wilson, who's on pace for 75 passing scores this season. Seattle's defense remains a major area of concern, one that received a setback on Sunday when Jamal Adams exited with a groin strain, but Wilson is Pete Carroll's ace in the hole.”

The Seahawks landed at No. 3 again this week in Nate Davis’ NFL Power Rankings for USA Today. Davis noted the Seahawks 3-0 start for the first time since 2013, the year Seattle won the Super Bowl.

“Seattle became the fifth team (by just a few hours) since the 1970 AFL-NFL merger to start 3-0 while scoring at least 35 points in all three games.”
