Pete Carroll is a big fan of what rookie Deejay Dallas has shown in training camp

Seahawks rookie running back Deejay Dallas is quickly making a name for himself.

One person who has taken extra notice of the Seahawks 4th round pick of the 2020 NFL draft is head coach Pete Carroll.

The Seahawks held their final mock game on Sunday before the season opener kicks off in two weeks

Carroll was pleased with the work his team was able to get in heading into a critical final week of training camp and took special notice of what Dallas has been doing all training camp.

He has been a stud. He hasn’t missed anything and he has taken tons of snaps. He has really picked things up really well. -- Pete Carroll

Carroll has said that, even at the beginning of training camp, that Dallas has had coaching and, even veteran quarterback Russell Wilson confident in him already.

"Right from the first few days he was with us, I know Russ and the coaches were really felt confident in him", Carroll said.  "He runs routes really well and catches the ball beautifully, so that kind gave him a leg up on his start."

For Dallas, he is in a little deep on the depth chart when it comes to the Seahawks running back core.

Incumbent starter Chris Carson is expected to be RB1. Carlos Hyde was signed to be the third-down pass-catching back/off-tempo back. Rashaad Penny is expected to return midseason to add more competition.

Dallas, if he wants to see the field, his best bet would be to start on special teams this year.

He shouldn’t have to worry about that, as Coach Carroll also has said that Dallas is in the midst of all the competition at special teams already.

"'He is right in the midst of all the competition on special teams as well. He has been such a terrific pick for us so far."

Look to see Dallas on the field this year and potentially be a steal for the Seahawks in this last year’s draft.
