Randy Moss: DK Metcalf’s routes put fear in the defense

Seahawks

From one freak to another, Hall of Famer wide receiver Randy Moss likes what he sees in DK Metcalf.

The 16-year, 4x First-Team All-Pro and 6x Pro Bowler joined Seattle Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson on the latest ‘DangerTalk’ Podcast to discuss what he sees in the Seahawks second-year wide receiver.

“Him just being a big wide receiver like myself, yeah, he weighs more than me. Sometimes we struggle with starting and stopping,” said Moss.

Then, he brought up this beautiful touchdown from Wilson to Metcalf, who beat the 2019 Defensive Player of the Year Stephon Gilmore downfield last Sunday.

Those are the type of routes that when you’re going out, all the routes have to look like that.

After falling in the second round (No. 64 overall) in the 2019 NFL Draft, Metcalf is coming off a stellar rookie season:

2019 SEASON STATS:

RECEPTIONS
58
RECEIVING YARDS
900

Metcalf also added seven touchdowns.

If his 6-foot-4, 230-pound freakish frame doesn’t intimidate you, then his freakish athletic ability should.

“The chemistry that you all have and such a young age, his [Metcalf] second year, man it’s unheard of. I kind of compared it to Julio Jones and Matt Ryan… When you have a dominant weapon like that on the outside, there’s chances in the game that the defense will let you get him the ball.

Those routes you guys ran the other night, those are the type of routes that puts fear in the defense when you have a guy that big, that fast…
