On Thursday, Brian Schottenheimer shared that he anticipated a breakout moment for Rashaad Penny coming soon. That might come in Week 17 with Carlos Hyde (illness) not playing for the Seahawks against the 49ers.
Seattle is likely to limit Chris Carson's workload in favor of Penny. He has just five carries for 15 yards in two games since returning from an ACL tear.
Here are all of the Seahawks inactives:
-- RB Carlos Hyde
-- CB Jayson Stanley
-- RB DeeJay Dallas
-- DE Jonathan Bullard
-- TE Greg Olsen
-- G Mike Iupati
-- Olsen is being held out after reaggravating his foot injury against the Rams last weekend. It's more of a precautionary measure as the tight end should be good to go for the playoffs.
-- RB Alex Collins was promoted from the practice squad as one of the replacements for Brandon Shell and Damarious Randall, who were each placed on the COVID list. Collins will likely get touches with Carson's workload limited.
-- Jordan Simmons will continue to start at left guard in place of Iupati.
-- Stanley is inactive due to the return of Tre Flowers, who was activated off of IR on Saturday.
