On the same day that Jadeveon Clowney agreed to terms with the Titans, the Seahawks have claimed D’Andre Walker from Tennessee, who was likely waived to make room for the prized pass rusher.
Walker is listed as a linebacker but is more of an edge player. He was drafted by the Titans in the fifth round of the 2019 NFL Draft but didn’t appear in a single game as a rookie. In college at Georgie, Walker posted 13.5 career sacks, including 7.5 as a senior in 2018.
He’s likely just a depth piece who will be inactive on gamedays barring injury. Seattle will have to make a corresponding roster move to make room for Walker.
Also of note, none of the players the Seahawks waived on Saturday were claimed. That means many will end up back on Seattle’s practice squad. That includes guys like Shaquem Griffin and Stephen Sullivan.
