Seahawks fans are reeling after Jadeveon Clowney signs with Titans

Seahawks

It’s OK to admit it Seattle Seahawks fans.

You’re disappointed.

After months of sitting around your cell phones awaiting an alert from Ian Rapoport, Tom Pelissero, or whatever NFL insider you follow (we recommend Joe Fann), Jadeveon Clowney has joined the Tennessee Titans, not the Seattle Seahawks.

The Titans won the Clowney sweepstakes on Sunday, whisking Clowney away from his beloved home in the Emerald City and signing him to a one-year deal worth $15 million, per Rapoport.

After months of creating Baby Yoda Clowney gifs in hopes of his return and Pete Carroll and John Schneider acknowledging the “door's not closed” on a possible reunion, Clowney’s headed to Nashville. It’s OK to feel some sort of way about it.

Honestly, we applaud your efforts. We feel your pain. Russell Wilson only has so many years in his prime to bring another Super Bowl championship to the city and it felt like Clowney was the missing puzzle piece in the defense that could bring it all together.

Here’s a mixed bag of reactions following the news of Clowney’s signing with the Titans:

The good news? The Jadeveon Clowney saga is over.

And...the Seahawks defense still has Bobby Wagner, and trading for Jamal Adams and Quinton Dunbar to invest in the secondary was crucial. Adding Bruce Irvin and Benson Mayowa in free agency should also contribute to an improved pass rush.

Plus, six-time Pro Bowler Clay Matthews is still on the market.

Not paying Clowney may go down as one of the biggest question marks in the John Schneider-Pete Carroll era, but Seahawks fans can hold out hope that it becomes one of the biggest success stories of their tenure as well.
