Seahawks LB Jordyn Brooks suffers MCL sprain against Dallas

The Seattle Seahawks were hit with another infestation of injury bugs on Sunday against the Dallas Cowboys.

This time, rookie linebacker Jordyn Brooks, who the Seahawks selected with their first-round draft pick (No. 27 overall) in the 2020 NFL Draft, left the game late in the third quarter with a knee injury.

It was confirmed on Monday morning by NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero that Brooks has suffered an MCL sprain and will miss a few weeks.

Brooks made his first career NFL start last Sunday taking the place of injured veteran Bruce Irvin who tore his ACL in week two against the New England Patriots on Sunday Night Football. He recorded one tackle against the Cowboys.

Seattle’s depth at linebacker takes another hit with Brooks now out for a few weeks. Veterans Bobby Wagner and K.J. Wright will continue to lead this young group in the middle of the defense featuring second-year linebackers Cody Barton and Ben Burr-Kirven, D’Andre Walker and Shaquem Griffin.

Next up, the 3-0 Seahawks will hit the road to face the Miami Dolphins (1-2) at 10 AM (PT) this Sunday at Hard Rock Stadium.
