Russell Wilson sits awkwardly between Roger Goodell, Ciara during Super Bowl 55

Russell Wilson may not be playing in this year’s Super Bowl, but the 2020 NFL Walter Payton Man of the Year is getting plenty of attention.

During the first half of Super LV, the cameras panned to NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell, who was sitting in his box with none other than the Seahawks QB and his pop star wife, Ciara.

Wilson was shown awkwardly sitting in between Goodell and Ciara as they chatted away, and the eight-time Pro Bowler clearly looked uninterested.

NFL Twitter wasted no time roasting Wilson and they leveled up on the Ciara jokes, too.

Russell and Ciara are taking part in the Super Bowl festivities this week after Wilson was named Walter Payton Man of the Year on Saturday night. The prestigious award recognizes excellence both on and off the field.

Ciara took to social media to let her husband know how proud she was.

“You’re the most selfless, loving, & caring person I know. Your heart, dedication, and commitment to taking care of others is truly what sets you apart. It’s one of the most beautiful and attractive things about you! I’m so proud of you and to be a part of your great mission to impact others!” she wrote on Instagram.

Wilson has accomplished a lot in his nine-year career. In 2020, he became the NFL’s all-time winningest quarterback in his first nine seasons. The Seahawks, however, fell short of their ultimate goal of making it back to the Super Bowl this year after falling to the Los Angeles Rams in the Wild Card Round.
