The Seattle Seahawks bounced back after a disappointing Week 13 loss against the New York Giants and won 40-3 in blowout fashion against the New York Jets. Quarterback Russell Wilson threw for 206 yards and four touchdowns while running back Chris Carson ran for 76 yards and a touchdown.
Although it was against the Jets (who are still winless) the defense looked even better on Sunday and held the Jets' offense to just 3 points the whole game. Over the last five games, the defense has allowed an average of 16.2 That side of the ball has gone from horrible, to really good in a span of just a few weeks.
Safety Jamal Adams broke the single-season sack record against his former team. His 8.5 sacks this season are the most by a defensive back in NFL history, and he has three games left to keep adding to that total.
The Washington Football Team is one of the hottest teams in the NFC right now with being on a four-game win streak. The team is now at the top of the NFC East following Sunday’s 23-15 win over the San Francisco 49ers.
In regards to injuries for the WFT, quarterback Alex Smith left the game with a mild calf strain in the second quarter and was replaced by Dwayne Haskins. After the game, coach Ron Rivera expressed that it is nothing serious and that he is day to day for Sunday’s matchup. For the Seahawks, DE Carlos Dunlap should be good to go for this Sunday’s game, as well as tackle Bradon Shell making his way back to injury. Overall, the Seahawks are fairly healthy are guys are slowly making their way back to the field.
