Seahawks waive WR Penny Hart to make room for the return of Josh Gordon

Seahawks

The Seattle Seahawks are finally able to make wide receiver Josh Gordon eligible to return to the field from his suspension, and the team is hoping he contributes to the offense right away.

Gordon has been suspended since last December, where he violated the league’s policies on performance-enhancing drugs and substances of abuse.

On Monday, he was officially added to the 53-man roster and will be able to practice with the team on Wednesday after a long hiatus from football.

Of course, the team had to make room to be able to bring Gordon into the roster. That player that was let go was wide receiver Penny Hart.

The Seahawks already have receivers John Ursua, Aaron Fuller, and Cody Thompson on their practice squad at the moment, and Hart will most likely be added if he is not claimed.

Hart, through 11 games this season, has caught one pass for three yards and adding a 19-yard rush against the Jets.

With Gordon officially back, it was a one in and one out the type of move for the Seahawks to make room for the veteran receivers hopeful return to play this Sunday.
