We finally have some clarity surrounding Josh Gordon and being placed back on the commissioner’s exempt list.
Sadly, it is not a positive update.
According to NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero, Gordon's reinstatement has been denied, and the wide receiver has once again been suspended indefinitely.
What a strange timeline for the once-dominant receiver. After being suspended in December 2019, Gordon was re-signed by the Seahawks in September, leading to many that he would be back on the field soon.
Sadly, things never transpired. And when Gordon was eligible to return to practice ahead of his hopeful Week 16 season debut, he was placed back onto the commissioner’s exempt list for failing to meet the conditions.
As Carroll tried to update the media as the situation went on, this is not the final result we all wanted.
As the new year begins, Gordon will be an unrestricted free agent.
