Seattle Seahawks are reuniting with Josh Gordon

At long last, the Seattle Seahawks are reuniting with wide receiver Josh Gordon.

After months of speculating an inevitable reunion, on Thursday, reports began to circulate:

The signing was also acknowledged by Gordon's agent, David Canter.

Gordon returns to Seattle after he played five games with the Seahawks in 2019. The 29-year-old was handed an indefinite suspension from the NFL for violating the league’s polices on performance-enhancing drugs and substances of abuse. The loss of his brother led to his recent relapse, according to his attorney Adam Kenner.

The 2013 All-Pro applied for reinstatement in June, but he is still awaiting word from the NFL on his reinstatement.

Speaking with Jason La Canfora last month, Seahawks QB Russell Wilson had high praise for Gordon.

“Josh came in with us last year and he was such an amazing energy in terms of just how he loved the game,” Wilson said. “I pray for him all the time, that’s my guy. Hopefully he can play in the league because I know he’s a special, special person. He’s gone through a lot. He lost his brother last year, a pretty heavy year."

I think at the same time, some of the plays he can make, he’s one of the best receivers in the game. He was really catching fire with us early on when we were able to get him the ball. -- Russell Wilson on Josh Gordon
