DK Metcalf thought he had a touchdown in the first quarter of Sunday’s Week 3 matchup between the Seattle Seahawks and Dallas Cowboys.
But he forgot about Trevon Diggs.
After the second-year wide receiver caught a 63-yard touchdown pass from Seahawks QB Russell Wilson, he slowed before reaching the endzone. Enter rookie defensive back Diggs, who caught Metcalf from behind and punched the ball out, much like Don Beebe did to Leon Lett in the Super Bowl XXVII.
DK’s brain was on airplane mode.
NFL Twitter wasted no time roasting Metcalf, who seemingly pulled a Leon Lett on his way to the end zone.
NFL Twitter showed Metcalf no mercy.
The good news is Wilson is airing it out often now that Seattle is letting Russ cook.
Metcalf should have another opportunity to redeem himself as the second quarter of Sunday’s game gets underway. The Seahawks and Cowboys are tied at 9-all with 10:24 remaining before halftime.
