The Seahawks have had some legendary defenses. The Legion of Boom is officially no longer on the Seattle roster. Earl Thomas has a new home with the Baltimore Ravens; Richard Sherman remains within the division with the San Fransisco 49ers; and defensive end Frank Clark is now with the Kansas City Chiefs.
It has been tough for any road team to win in Seattle because of the Seahawks' defense backed by the loud 12's.
Coming into this season, the big question surrounding the franchise has been if the Seahawks get back to that elite defense?
Throughout the offseason and in the last week alone, the Seahawks have made strides to accomplish just that. The addition of defensive end, former No. 1 pick of the 2014 NFL draft and three-time Pro Bowler Jadeveon Clowney definitely increases that defensive capability the Seahawks have this season.
“I think it completely changes the outlook of their season,” says our Insider Joe Fann who joined the NFL Kickoff Show this morning on NBC. “The big question a month ago was do they have the pass rush talent with Cassius Marsh and a questionable Ziggy Ansah leading your pass rush? That’s a big question mark. All the sudden, Ansah looks like he’s ready to go… and then you through Jadeveon Clowney into mix… To me, absolutely it changes the entire complexion of what Seattle throws out there on defense.”
