Thursday’s NFL Roundup includes the latest on the Seattle Seahawks position battles via Aaron Fentress and we have the latest on how the Northwest wildfires are impacting the Seahawks. Also, what’s going on with Richard Sherman? You’re about to find out…
Seahawks right tackle competition is heating up
Seahawks fans have been trying to figure out what’s going to happen with All-Pro Earl Thomas and how are his teammates feeling about the holdout.
Aaron Fentress wants to keep you in the know…
“The uneven play of right tackle Germain Ifedi has created an opening for someone else to steal the starting job and that someone could be George Fant.
“The comp is on," Seattle coach Pete Carroll said.
Ifedi, the team's first-round pick in 2016, has not lived up to expectations while starting 29 games in two seasons and doesn't appear to have improved enough this August to lock down that job.”
The wildfire smoke is making a big impact in Seattle
In the Northwest, especially in Portland and Seattle, wildfires have been affecting the air quality and that has prompted the Seahawks to make a change.
“For the first time in nearly four weeks, since training camp opened in late July, the setting for Seahawks practice on Tuesday was different...
"If you're going to ask why we practiced indoors," Carroll started. "The air quality was such that it was better for us to come in here, so that's why we're inside."
The smoke that has blanketed the Seattle area, Puget Sound and the rest of Western Washington the last several days.”

From current Seahawks players to a former one…

Pro Football Talk has the latest…
“Sherman, who also dealt with a hamstring tweak in training camp, said he felt ready to play last week, but that head coach Kyle Shanahan and the team opted to hold him back for another week. Given the dual injuries and the risk of a setback, Sherman was asked why he felt it was important to get on the field this week.”
Sherman is also getting into the fantasy football world
Even more news on Optimus Prime…
Are you interested in playing a little fantasy football? Sherman is about to have you covered.
“Sherman announced Thursday that his new fantasy site, Daily Number, will be launching paid contests in 23 states. Sherman is the co-founder, along with CEO Tom McAuley, and will be the chief brand ambassador, appearing in an upcoming video ad campaign.
While many NFL stars have endorsed fantasy sites, Sherman is believed to be one of the first, if not the first, to have a founding stake in a fantasy game.”
