The Seattle Storm and Chicago Sky have teamed up as the first two WNBA franchises to invest in the growth of the 3x3 women’s game.

In a press release sent out by Force 10 Sports Management on Monday, owners Lisa Brummel, Ginny Gilder and Storm’s CEO and President Alisha Valavanis announced the group will expand its 3x3 women’s basketball operation to a total of four teams.

The Sky join the Storm as the latest sponsors.

Force 10 Sports Management is a production, sales and marketing agency that is looking at 3x3 opportunities with incredible growth potential.

The women’s 3x3 teams are slated to compete in the 2021 Red Bull 3X circuit starting July 17.

Rosters for each team are set to be announced later this week.

“We believe there is incredible opportunity to grow participation for girls and women in the 3x3 game—from youth tournaments to professional teams," said Alisha Valavanis, President and CEO of both Force 10 Sports Management and the Seattle Storm said in Monday’s press release.

"It’s a format of basketball that is exciting and dynamic for the players and the audience. We are grateful that the Chicago Sky joined in this effort to invest in 3x3 teams this summer. This means more women will be supported and sponsored to develop, train and earn prize money.”
