After entering the 2021 NBA draft with zero picks, the Portland Trail Blazers acquired pick No. 43 from the New Orleans Pelicans for a future second-round selection and financial considerations.
With the No. 43 pick, Portland selected Texas freshman forward Greg Brown.
Brown is known for his athleticism and leaping ability.
The 19-year old out of Austin, Texas averaged 9.3 points on 42.0 percent shooting in his lone season at Texas to go along with 6.2 rebounds in 20.6 minutes per game.
He started 24 of 26 games.
At 6’9” and 205 pounds, Brown relies on his freak athleticism; he’ll need to work on his overall offensive game, including his handles and decision-making, but he can put together a very nice highlight reel.
Brown recorded a 44.5-inch max vertical jump and a 37-inch standing vertical at the NBA Combine.
Before his one season as a Longhorn, Brown ranked as the No. 8 prospect in the nation by Rivals and No. 9 recruit by 247Sports composite.
