The Trail Blazers are being recognized for the way they finished the regular season.
It was announced Monday that Damian Lillard earned the Western Conference Player of the Week honors for the final week of the season.
Just hours later, the league made the announcement that Blazers head coach Terry Stotts was named the Western Conference Coach of the Month for the month of May.
Coach Stotts led Portland to a 7-2 record for the month. That impressive record was tied for the third-best mark in the league as the Blazers closed out the season with a 10-2 record.
This is the first time this season that Coach Stotts has earned the monthly honor.
It’s the eighth time in his career that he has won the award.
New York Knicks head coach Tom Thibodeau was named the Eastern Conference Coach of the Month.
During the month of May, the Blazers had double-digit wins over Boston, Cleveland, San Antonio, Houston and Denver, as well as victories over the L.A. Lakers and Utah Jazz.
The Blazers also ranked first in the league in offensive rating with 123.8 and third in net rating at 10.3.
Following Sunday’s blowout win over the Nuggets, the Blazers clinched the sixth seed in the Western Conference playoffs and secured the franchise’s eighth-consecutive playoff berth.
