Trail Blazers veteran and future Hall of Famer Carmelo Anthony has partnered with basketball trainer Alex Bazzell to launch an online training and coaching platform.
The virtual platform, Through The Lens, officially launched Wednesday with a focus on giving students and young athletes access to top basketball minds throughout the NBA and WNBA world.
Melo posted about the launch via his Instagram.
Anthony is joined by Hawks point guard Trae Young, WNBA champ and Finals MVP Candace Parker, young bright WNBA superstar and WNBA rookie of the year in 2019, Napheesa Collier, as well as former Oregon Duck and standout guard Sabrina Ionescu, and others to bring users educational training and coaching videos.
The NBA and WNBA stars each have episodes available for young athletes to access through the program.
As the Through The Lens website states this is a platform with “hours of basketball knowledge shared by the brightest minds in the world.”
Training and educational content will be shared in video-based packets that young players can determine how they want to purchase individual packets. A user can spend $150 for full access to all the educational content.
In a press release sent out by Through The Lens, Melo shared his excitement of this new online platform.
“Growing up in West Baltimore, I saw first-hand the consequences of young people not having the necessary tools and foundation for success,” said Anthony. “More importantly, I saw the incredible impact and personal growth of those who were provided with that crucial support. Part of the reason I love basketball is because when you’re on the court, everyone is equal. This platform aims to make education and motivation at the highest level accessible to all students, regardless of background. I’m proud to be part of a team that’s helping set the next generation up for success by showing them that their potential on and off the court is limitless.”
