Carmelo Anthony’s private chef is opening up a Caribbean food pop-up next month

Most professional athletes these days make enough money to have the luxury of having their own personal chef.

It makes total sense to do that honestly. With the grueling schedule of in-season play, most of them don’t have time to cook for themselves and let alone stay on a strict diet.

Portland Trail Blazers forward and future Hall of Famer Carmelo Anthony is a veteran in this game, and like his ol’ buddy LeBron James, knows just how important having an important diet is to his day.

Anthony’s own personal chef name is Alexia Grant, and she has been with Anthony for the last five years and has moved city to city to make sure he gets a great meal each and every day.

Now, Grant wants Blazers fans to able to experience what Anthony eats on a daily basis.

Grant announced to Portland Eater that she plans, starting in February, to do a weekly pop-up at the Pearl Districts bar River Pig.

She plans to cook Caribbean and Indian dishes, the same food she grew up with her whole life.

Dishes that she plans to cook for fans include Caribbean black cake, Jamaican meat patties ground from scratch, and jerk kitchen out of a barrel drum.

Grant will change the menu from time to time to make sure fans keep the full experience of different Caribbean cuisines.

She plans to start serving meals on February 11 from noon to 9 p.m., as she will be taking over the bar for the remaining Thursday of the month.
