Trail Blazers shooting guard CJ McCollum is all about winning on and off the court these days.
McCollum’s second signature wine was released Monday morning at 9:00 am PT, and three hours later the McCollum Heritage 91 Rosé was sold out.
The Willamette Valley Rosé that McCollum collaborated on with Adelsheim winemaker Gina Hennen was his second and latest wine release.
In a press release earlier this month, McCollum had said he was “incredibly humbled” by the positive response following the release of his first vintage McCollum Heritage 91.
That Willamette Valley Pinot Noir sold out in less than 30 minutes.
Following Monday’s practice, McCollum shared his enthusiasm about his second signature wine.
“I’m excited about it, man,” McCollum said. “It’s a passion of mine. Something that has grown on me and that I’ve grown to love. I’m excited to share with people.”
According to the McCollum Heritage 91 website, the Rosé has “lovely aromas of fresh strawberry, white peach, and lemon verbena lift out of the glass. The palate is smooth and supple, the plushness supported by a refreshing core of acid-driven firmness.”
A refreshing glass of Rosé will be perfect for the nice weather ahead, just as McCollum pointed out.
McCollum’s pinot noir was released in Sept. of 2020.
And while the 29-year-old did not say what is in store for McCollum Heritage 91, he did make sure to add:
Since McCollum had not gotten a chance to look at his phone from the time he left the practice court to talk to the media, he wasn’t aware of the news that his second signature wine had sold out.
But while hearing the news on the Zoom interview, the excitement was felt.
“We did it! Two-for-two,” McCollum said with a big smile while raising his arms.
Congrats, CJ! We can’t wait to Rosé all day.
