Trail Blazers starting shooting guard CJ McCollum is very active on social media, especially on a Sunday afternoon when his Cleveland Browns are playing.
But it was on Saturday night during the Lakers-Nuggets Game 5 that had people talking about one of McCollum’s tweets.
In the notable quote retweet, McCollum used just one simple hashtag:
He was referring to the tweet regarding Nuggets forward Jerami Grant balling out and “auditioning for the Lakers.”
Trail Blazers fans were all ears once McCollum pushed send on that one.
Twitter went crazy --- Does this mean McCollum is hoping Grant will make his way to Portland??
The 6’8” forward, who is expected to become a free agent this offseason, had an impressive playoff run with the Nuggets averaging 11.6 points a game and showed off his strong wing defense. Many believe Grant could demand anywhere from $14 million to $16 million a year.
Rip City showed its support for bringing Grant back to his hometown after the now 26-year-old was born in Portland.
Of course, there were also the replies to CJ’s tweet questioning if that one hashtag could be considered tampering.
But, would it be tampering for Los Angeles since the tweet he was talking about said Grant was auditioning for the Lakers?
One thing is certain: Rip City is excited for free agency, which is slated to start Oct. 18.
