To some, the news of a reunion between the Trail Blazers and Enes Kanter may come as a surprise considering the way Kanter left Portland two summers ago.
There was the whole debacle of Kanter saying he had just six minutes to make a decision on a deal with the Blazers once 2019 free agency opened.
Kanter had texted Marc Spears of The Undefeated about the six-minute allegations.
Damian Lillard took to twitter to try to set the record straight and let people know that it was an original 45 minutes and Lillard was involved in the decision making meeting.
So now that you recall the backstory of the free agency incident -- fast forward to Nov. 20, 2020.
About an hour after the news broke Friday, Lillard dropped this tweet about letting things go “especially when it’s not benefitting either side.”
Sure, that could just be a great inspirational tweet for all to see, but it could also be an acknowledgement that the Trail Blazers five-time All-Star doesn’t hold a grudge and instead has buried the hatchet with Kanter.
One thing is certain: It's time to see how the duo can benefit each other once again on the court.
