Despite playing only five games in this past 2020-2021 NFL season, Richard Sherman is still highly sought after, at least in Damian Lillard and CJ McCollum’s eyes.
The 10-year veteran, 3x First-Team All-Pro and 5x Pro Bowl San Francisco 49er corner signed a three-year contract with S.F. back in 2018. But what comes next?
“I’ve enjoyed my time,” Sherman told NBCSportsBayArea.com back in December 2020. “I’ve loved every moment of it. And I wish we could continue it for a couple more years, but it’s not looking likely.”
That quote was from December.
It’s now February 5 and there are a few destinations that Lillard and McCollum have in mind as Sherman heads into his 11th season in the league next year.
First, McCollum, a Canton, Ohio-native and the biggest Cleveland Browns fan in the NBA, would love to see Sherman in orange and brown.
Lillard, an Oakland, California- native, then chimed in and said that Raider Nation would love to see Sherman in black and silver.
In the last three years, Sherman saw action in 34 games and recorded 116 tackles, 16 passes deflected, four interceptions and one fumble recovery.
Coming into a deal with San Francisco after spending seven seasons with the Seattle Seahawks and the famous Legion of Boom secondary, Sherman negotiated his own contract terms. He will likely do so once again in this next chapter of his NFL career.
Where that will be, however, is still undecided. But Dame and CJ are shooting their shots.
