During pregame warmups, the official Blazers Twitter account recorded a sighting of Headband Dame. He continued to rock the headband as Sunday's game vs. the Heat tipped off, and as Brooke Olzendam explained during the game broadcast, he did it for a good reason.

"It is in honor of former Blazer and one of his closest friends, Tim Frazier, getting a 10-day contract with the Memphis Grizzlies. That is what I hear," Olzendam reported.

Cue the “Can I get a headband” Trail Blazers theme song from 2000 (If you know, you know).

As for Blazers Twitter, they seemed to dig the throwback look.

Lillard wasn't the only player with some headband game Sunday night. Jusuf Nurkic, Robert Covington, and Rondae Hollis-Jefferson also showcased the unique look.

What do you think, Rip City? Is the headband here to stay?

The Trail Blazers lead the Heat 15-9 in the first quarter. Catch all the action on NBCS Northwest, the official network of the Portland Trail Blazers.
