Damian Lillard will sit out of Trail Blazers preseason finale

Before the Trail Blazers tip-off in their final preseason game of the year Friday, Blazers head coach Terry Stotts gave an update on his lineup.

Portland and Denver are set to tip-off at Ball Arena in the Mile High City at 6:00p.m. PST.

But, the Blazers will be without Damian Lillard, who is taking the night off according to Coach Stotts.

Stotts also said that Lillard is not injured, just not playing tonight.

Lillard averaged 10.7 points, 3.3 assists, and 2.0 rebounds in 21.7 minutes of action in Portland's first three exhibition games.

The Blazers will be thin at point guard with Anfernee Simons out for the third straight game Friday. Simons has been dealing with a hamstring injury that he suffered in last Friday’s win over the Kings. Stotts says he is progressing and they are hoping to have him back for the first game of the regular season on Dec. 23.

It’ll be time for CJ McCollum, Gary Trent Jr. and Rodney Hood to divide minutes as primary ball handlers in Portland’s final tune-up.

Portland and Denver tip-off at 6:00p.m. on NBCSNW.
