'Lillard Time' is a real thing, and the numbers prove it

Damian Lillard is the coldest in the game.

The Trail Blazers guard came in clutch once again when the clock struck Lillard Time at Moda Center on Wednesday night.

Lillard put the finishing touches on Portland’s 108-106 victory over Golden State by delivering another ice-cold game-winner and taking a late charge on Draymond Green.

When the moment calls, the man, the myth, the Trail Blazers legend is always ready to deliver.

Dame is undeterred,” Blazers coach Terry Stotts said of Lillard post-game. “He made the two plays of the game... he's a super competitor, never thinks he's out of the game and always willing to put himself on the line."

And he does it on the line so often that we don’t even have to check our watches.

In regular time, Lillard is shooting 43.1 percent from the floor, 36.5 percent from three and 92.2 percent at the free-throw line. When the game is on the line? The Trail Blazer star has a field-goal percentage of 61.4 percent, is hitting on 60 percent from beyond the arc and is perfect from the free-throw line, according to StatMuse.

Lillard’s late-game shooting rampage and how often he sends opposing teams packing shouldn’t surprise anyone. To add to his case, the six-time NBA All-Star has hit on 12-of-20 3-pointers in “clutch” situations this season.

Whether you call it “Dame Time,” or “Lillard Time,” Lillard continues taking his crunch-time brilliance to new heights each and every game, and it’s about time he takes home that MVP trophy too.
