Denver Nuggets egregiously ignore Carmelo Anthony's stint with the franchise

Trail Blazers

If you grew up on the NBA of the 21st century when you think about the Denver Nuggets you think of one man: Carmelo Anthony.

Yes, he forced his way out of the franchise but Denver received a haul from the Knicks for Anthony, and he's one of the best players to suit up in a Nuggets uniform.

Which makes Denver's continued ignoring of one of its all-time greatest players bewildering and Friday morning that disrespect was loud as ever.

The official Nuggets Twitter account tweeted a graphic which prompted fans to say who their favorite Nugget of all-time is with Alex English, Dikembe Mutombo, Nick Van Exel, Nikola Jokic and Chancey Billups.

Um, excuse me? How do you omit Carmelo Anthony from this list?

Melo is third in franchise history in scoring, minutes played, seventh in steals, was a four-time NBA All-Star and led Denver to the Western Conference Finals in 2008-09.

Heck, the 2008-09 season appears to be represented with Billups, who played three seasons in Denver before being traded to New York along with Melo.

Social media blasted the Nuggets and rightfully so.

Us at NBC Sports Northwest decided to have some fun as well.
