Former Oregon State Beavers Men’s Basketball assistant and current Milwaukee Bucks assistant coach Chad Forcier joined us this week on the latest Talkin’ Beavers Podcast to reminisce about his time in Corvallis.
Forcier also discussed what it was like coaching alongside the late Eddie Payne and what it means to be coaching in the NBA Finals for the Milwaukee Bucks.
Forcier spent three seasons as an assistant coach with the Beavs after interning with the Seattle SuperSonics and before moving on as an assistant with the University of Portland.
But he got his start in the NBA in Detroit.

With Forcier on the Pistons staff from 2001-03 during the Chauncey Billups era, the 20-year veteran NBA assistant coach is excited to see Mr. Big Shot transition into the head coaching world as the Trail Blazers successor to Terry Stotts.
“I’m thrilled for Chauncey,” Forcier said. “I got to coach Chauncey with the Pistons in ’02-’03 and we had a Conference Finals team there that year and, of course, Chauncey was the captain of the ship.”
Forcier, who has been an assistant now for the Bucks since the start of the 2019 season, also mentioned that he built a special bond with Billups during their time in Detroit.
Forcier believes Billups has great potential to lead a team as a head coach.
Billups was named the Blazers' 15th head coach in franchise history on June 27.
