The Portland Trail Blazers and Los Angeles Lakers tip-off Game 5 at 6:00p.m. PST on NBCSNW Saturday night.
With the Blazers down 1-3 in their first round playoff series and now without their superstar point guard Damian Lillard, Portland will look to CJ McCollum, Carmelo Anthony, and Jusuf Nurkic to shoulder the load.
Lillard left the Orlando Bubble Thursday morning and made his way back to Portland to meet with team doctors and have his sprained right knee examined further.
The Blazers will also be without Zach Collins (left ankle stress fracture) and Nassir Little (dehydration recovery) Saturday.
During his pregame interview, Trail Blazers head coach Terry Stotts said that CJ McCollum will be the primary ball handler in Game 5, but that backup wing Gary Trent Jr. will get the start.
McCollum averaged 33.3 points and 8.3 assists while shooting 48.3 percent when Lillard missed 6 games this past season with a strained groin. The Blazers went 2-4 during that span.
5:15pm UPDATE: Wenyen Gabriel (right quad tendinitis) is OUT for tonight's game vs. LA Lakers.
As for the Lakers injury updates heading into Game 5, head coach Frank Vogel said Rajon Rondo, who was initially listed as questionable with back spasms, will not play Saturday night, while Dion Waiters is a game-time decision with a migraine.
