The Portland Trail Blazers (11-9) are right back at it after Tuesday’s win against the Washington Wizards, as they get set to face early MVP favorite Joel Embiid and the Philadelphia 76ers (16-6).
Thursday’s contest will be the first of two matchups between the Trail Blazers and 76ers during the 2020-21 season.
The two will actually meet again on February 11th in Portland, Oregon.
The 2019-20 season series between these two teams was tied at 1-1.
Sadly in this contest, the Blazers are still dealing with a number of injuries, including Damian Lillard who is questionable for tonight's matchup.
Here are the other Blazers that that team listed as injured in tonight’s game: Zach Collins (out), Jusuf Nurkic (out), CJ McCollum (out), Nassir Little (out), and Derrick Jones Jr. (questionable). For the 76ers, Mike Scott and Terrance Ferguson are listed at out against the Blazers.
The Blazers will have their hands full once again and especially on the defensive side of the ball, with Joel Embiid, Ben Simmons and Tobias Harris leading the 76ers in scoring.
UPDATE: Ben Simmons is OUT against Portland.
With McCollum out and Lillard still up in the air about playing tonight, players such as Anfernee Simons and Gary Trent Jr. will have to step up big and showcase what they can bring to the table.
The Blazers are +8.5 point underdogs against the 76ers, odds provided by our partner PointsBet.
