Jusuf Nurkic trolls Knicks for reports of Damian Lillard trade rumors

Trail Blazers

In the grand scheme of things, the New York Knicks are no longer considered a dumpster fire.

For a few seasons, they have been the laughing stock of the NBA. Even fans had a hard time rooting for them.

But as the team has found its stride, to a degree, Knicks fans are back to their arrogant, over-confident ways.

So much so that they now think they have the leverage to bring in any superstar from any team.

And now it's gotten so bold that they think they can grab Damian Lillard away from the Blazers.

According to the New York Post, a report has come out that the Knicks are now looking for an opportunity to try and grab Damian Lillard away with a number of first-round picks.

That's not just how it works.

Of course, teammate Jusuf Nurkic had to chime in. Essentially saying that 3 toileting 4 first-round picks isn’t enough.

The Knicks are on a high, I do get all of that, but trying to get Lillard without giving away players such as Julius Randle or RJ Barrett or Obi Toppin is hilarious to think about.

It's not the first time rumors about the Knicks has come up.

ESPN’s Stephen A. Smith back in 2018 talked about potential trade partners with the Knicks

In an interview with Vanity Fair last summer Lillard said he heard the chatter. "I thought I was headed there a few years ago; I was hearing trade rumors. The Garden is my favorite place to play."

Lillard, who is set to enter his supermax contract next season, is worth more than what the Knicks are trying to offer, both literally and figuratively.

No matter what the Knicks offer for him, it likely won't be enough. Not even a $30M+ trade exception.

Lillard s loyal to the city of Portland and he will most likely spend the rest of his career here.

Anything can happen, but the Knicks need to calm down.
