'Melo' is and always will be Carmelo Anthony, not LaMelo Ball

Ever since the Charlotte Hornets selected LaMelo Ball with the third overall pick in the 2020 NBA Draft, NBA Twitter has argued at least once a month whether he or Carmelo Anthony should go by Melo.

Monday was another one of those days as "Carmelo Anthony" trended nationwide following LaMelo's stellar start to his rookie campaign.
