The NBA has seen numerous games postponed this season and now they are making some changes that will help get those games rescheduled.
When the league initially released the schedule, they only released what they called "the first half" of the season. In doing so, they left the second half easily adjustable in the case games would have to be rescheduled.
The Trail Blazers have had two games postponed this season, both against the Memphis Grizzlies, that will be added to the second half of the season. But those aren't the only changes the Blazers will have to deal with.
On Wednesday, the league announced some minor changes to the schedule that directly impacts the Trail Blazers.
The Wizards - Hornets game, which was originally scheduled for January 20, but was postponed, will now be played on February 7.
To accommodate that change, the league will move the Blazers-Hornets game, which was to be played that day, to the second half of the season.
Since the Blazers were already on the road and were now postponing a game, the league also decided to move their game against the Wizards, which was scheduled for the second half of the season, to this road trip instead.
The Blazers will now play the Wizards on February 2 on what was a built-in "off day" on the road trip. The game will be the second game of a back-to-back for the Blazers and the first game of a back-to-back for Washington.
Portland's upcoming six-game road trip, which starts Thursday in Texas, now looks like this:
Thursday, Jan. 28 @ Houston, 4:30 p.m. PT
Saturday, Jan. 30 @ Chicago, 5:00 p.m. PT
Monday, Feb. 1 @ Milwaukee, 5:00 p.m. PT
Tuesday, Feb. 2 @ Washington, 5:00 p.m. PT (previously scheduled for second half)
Thursday, Feb. 4 @ Philadelphia, 4:00 p.m. PT
Saturday, Feb. 6 @ New York, 10:00 a.m. PT
Sunday, Feb. 7 @ Charlotte POSTPONED (rescheduled for second half)
Basically, Portland moves its back-to-back from the end of the trip to the middle, and now has an extra off day before returning home to play the Orlando Magic on Tuesday, February 9.
At this time, there appears to be no other changes to the Blazers schedule.
