The Portland Trail Blazers newest addition shooting guard/small forward Norman Powell will make his first appearance in a Blazers uniform Friday.

Ahead of the Blazers-Magic contest, Portland’s head coach Terry Stotts said that both Norman Powell and Jusuf Nurkic will be inserted into the starting lineup.

Powell will start at shooting guard, while CJ McCollum will move over to point guard with Damian Lillard out due to a left knee contusion.

"With Dame out, [Norman] will definitely play a significant amount," Coach Stotts said. "The biggest challenge is integrating offensively... We need to get things done offensively out of time outs and keep things simple as far as play calls. He spent time with our assistant coaches, giving him a handful of things that we can do when he's on the floor."

Stotts says Nurkic will play 5-minute stretches and will be on a minutes restriction.

Powell was given a few of the Trail Blazers plays to look over throughout the day, but has yet to get any practice time or shootaround time with the team.

With the Raptors, Powell averaged 19.5 points, 3.0 rebounds, and 1.8 assists.

The game plan for Friday night against the shorthanded Magic is to work Powell and Nurkic into a rhythm.  Catch all the action between Portland and Orlando at 5:00 p.m. PT live on NBCSNW, the official network of the Portland Trail Blazers.
