Pat Connaughton may be a member of the Milwaukee Bucks, but the former Notre Dame star has nothing but love for Rip City.
Connaughton called Portland home for the first three seasons of his career, and in that time he learned at least one thing: That the fans inside Moda Center are some of the best in the NBA.
While the Bucks-Trail Blazers on Friday will be held without fans, Connaughton still knows how wild the fans in Portland can be.
The Bucks posted a video from today's shootaround where, even in an empty gym, Patty-C paid some respect to Rip City.
In the video, Bucks guard Jrue Holiday calls Moda Center "Pat's Gym," before mentioning that "They got some great fans here though." Holiday is right, and the man known in Portland as Planet Pat agreed.
Connuaghton would know. Patty-C spent three seasons with the Blazers (2015-2018) where he averaged 3.7 points, 1.6 rebounds, and 0.8 assists. As a free agent in the summer of 2018 he left to join the Bucks.
Though he has a new NBA home, Planet Pat will always be welcomed by the rabid Portland fan base.
Respect.
