Trail Blazers set to host the Cavs during a snowstorm... again

Trail Blazers

Tonight, the Portland Trail Blazers will host the Cleveland Cavaliers at the Moda Center while the Rose City is largely shut down due to a snowstorm.

If that sounds familiar, it should.

This exact scenario happened just four years ago when the the-defending champion Cavaliers made their annual trip to Rip City.

Oh yeah, and that game ended with a Trail Blazers victory behind 27 points on 11-20 shooting from CJ McCollum in his second year as the Blazers starting shooting guard.

Al-Farouq Aminu added 12 rebounds and Evan Turner had 11 assists in the 102-86 blowout win.

Portland's defense held the Cavs Big 3 in check with LeBron James scoring 20 points on 5-12, Kyrie Irving scoring 16 points on 4-16 and Lake Oswego native Kevin Love scoring 17 on 5-15 from the field.

Can the Blazers repeat that performance again tonight?

While none of the Cavs Big 3 from 2017 will play tonight (Kevin Love is OUT with a right calf strain), Portland will have to deal with the high scoring backcourt duo of Collin Sexton and Darius Garland a.k.a. Sexland.

To watch all the action, tune in to NBC Sports Northwest, the official network of the Portland Trail Blazers which will air the game set to tipoff at 7:00 p.m. PT.
