Blazers announce Jordan Kent as television play-by-play broadcaster

A familiar face will call Trail Blazers games for the 2020-21 season and beyond.

The Trail Blazers announced that Television Studio Host Jordan Kent is now officially Portland’s full-time play-by-play broadcaster.

This summer, Television Play-By-Play announcer Kevin Calabro announced that he was stepping down after four years with the Blazers to focus on his family.

Kent has been a key contributor to NBC Sports Northwest, the Official Network of the Trail Blazers, since 2011. In addition to hosting "Blazers Courtside," Kent also hosts the network's signature University of Oregon sports show "Talkin' Ducks" on both linear TV and its popular podcast edition, along with filling as host for numerous NBCSNW programs during his tenure.He will continue in his long standing role with NBC Sports Northwest.

Kent, who played football, basketball, and ran track at the University of Oregon before entering the NFL and then becoming a TV sports analyst, filled in for Calabro during the NBA restart in Orlando, Florida. He called all 17 Trail Blazers games, including scrimmages and playoff games, alongside Blazers TV analyst Lamar Hurd.


The 2019-20 season marked Kent’s fourth season as Trail Blazers Television Studio Host. He has worked alongside Michael Holton, hosting the Toyota Pregame Show, McDonald’s Halftime Show, Postgame Show and Trail Blazers Courtside.


The 36-year-old brings more than 20 years of basketball knowledge to the broadcast after a standout basketball career that included Oregon first team all-state recognition in high school and three defensive Player of the Year awards for the University of Oregon Ducks men’s basketball team.

Kent just recently extended his family as well. Congrats to Jordan on the new job and welcoming his second son with his wife Tiffany.
