Trail Blazers

Tis the season for giving!

Portland Trail Blazers big man Jusuf Nurkic aka the ‘Bosnian Beast’ is an awesome teammate, a great supporter of Rip City and quite the family man. Now, he’s giving back to those closest to him.

On Saturday, Nurk posted on his personal Instagram account a picture

“I wish my grandma can be here for this moment ❤️ Man it’s been a struggle for us since day one, specially for her (my Mom) but finally after 40_ years my Mom owns her first car 🚘🙏🏻…”

Jusuf Nurkic

It’s been a tough year for Nurk. During the NBA restart in Orlando, Nurkic learned that his grandmother had contracted COVID-19.

Hana, who lived in Bosnia, told Nurkic about the contraction of the virus while on FaceTime with her grandson. He went on to tell reporters he considered not playing due to the seriousness of the virus.

On August 15, Hana had passed away.

In his post above, he wished Hana could have been here to see this moment for herself. But his message to all the struggling moms out there is really special and warms the heart.

Just look at those happy faces!

Congrats on the new car and well done, Beast.
