The Trail Blazers City edition jerseys officially debuted Monday -- not on the court, but online.
To promote the release of the uniquely Oregon jerseys the Trail Blazers teamed up with Grammy award-winning and Portland-based band, ‘Portugal. The Man.’ In the collaborated music video, all the elements from the 2020-21 Trail Blazers City Edition jersey are showcased.
The music video is not only for the City uniforms release, but also for ‘Portual. The Man’s’ newest song “Who’s Gonna Stop Me.”
Trail Blazers superstar Damian Lillard introduces the new music video.
The City Edition jersey was unveiled in October in partnership with Nike to acknowledge the true “Spirit of Oregon,” by celebrating the natural beauty and uniqueness of the state’s landscape as well acknowledging the Tribal Nations throughout the region who have called this land “home” from the beginning.
As part of the uniform release, the Trail Blazers have also partnered with BIKETOWN once again to design 10 bikes and six bike stations around the Rose Quarter campus with the look and feel of the City Edition jersey.
The Trail Blazers and Biofreeze have also partnered to donate a portion of the net proceeds from the City Edition uniform sales to the Native American Youth and Family Center, which is a local nonprofit that aims for change in enhancing the diverse strengths of native youth and families.
