Just as the NFL saw injuries pile up throughout its season, the NBA is also having injury problems in its shortened season.
Ahead of the Portland Trail Blazers and Houston Rockets game, Blazers head coach Terry Stotts shared the latest on Robert Covington who is not available for Thursday’s game.
Covington suffered a concussion in last Sunday’s contest against the New York Knicks and is still going through the NBA’s concussion protocol.

Portland will have Rodney Hood (left quad contusion) and Derrick Jones Jr. (left quad contusion) available when the Blazers face the new-look Rockets. Coach Stotts also mentioned that Jones Jr. will start.
CJ McCollum (left midfoot fracture), Jusuf Nurkic (right wrist fracture) and Zach Collins (left ankle stress fracture) are out for Thursday’s game.

For Houston, Christian Wood (right ankle; sprain) is available and Dante Exum (right calf; strain) is out.
Wood is averaging 23.5 points on 52.8 percent shooting to go along with 10.8 rebounds through 12 games.
The Blazers and Rockets tip-off at 4:40p.m. PST on TNT.
