The Trail Blazers and Golden State Warriors will tip-off at 7:30p.m. PST Friday from Chase Center in San Francisco.
Friday's matchup with the Warriors marks the first of three games between Portland and Golden State during the 2020-21 season. All three meetings are slated during the First Half of the season, with the other two games scheduled for Jan. 3 and March 3.
The Warriors announced pregame that Draymond Green (right foot; soreness) and Eric Paschall (right knee; soreness) are available for tonight’s game.
This will be the first game back for Green in 309 days. He lasted suited up for the Warriors back on Feb. 27, 2020 in a game against the Lakers.
Golden State will be without Marquese Chriss (right syndesmosis; injury w/ fibula fracture), Alen Smailagic (right knee; soreness) and Klay Thompson (right Achilles tendon; repair).
Ahead of the New Year’s Day matchup, Trail Blazers head coach Terry Stotts spoke with the media to give the latest updates.
Coach Stotts said Gary Trent Jr., who has been dealing with a right calf strain will not play Friday. This is the second straight game that Trent Jr. will miss due to the calf strain that he suffered in Monday’s win over the Lakers.
Through three games this season Trent Jr. is averaging 13.0 points on 48.5 percent three-point shooting to go along with 1.8 rebounds and 1.1 steals per game.
The Blazers will also be without Nassir Little (Health and Safety Protocols). Portland announced Thursday that Zach Collins (left ankle stress fracture) is not with the team for Friday's game.
