Trail Blazers vs. Kings first preseason game: Sights and sounds from Moda Center

Trail Blazers

As the Trail Blazers and Kings warm-up for the first preseason game of the 2020-21 season, it’s a different feeling at Moda Center.

Yes, not having fans start making their way to their seats during warm-ups is very strange.

VERY odd.

The vibe around the arena is loud music and that's about it right now.

Also, the courtside seats are nowhere to be found.

The extra space around the perimeter of the court makes way for television camera personal to space out and operate with more room, but, as was noticeable in the NBA restart, more space around the court means more players willing to go all out to save a loose ball.

Social distancing signs, hand washing stations, and cleaning kits are spread out throughout the media workroom space and the media seats in the bowl.

Despite the limited media allowed to cover the game in person, Zoom interviews will still be conducted pregame and postgame.

GAME NOTES: The Trail Blazers will be without Jusuf Nurkic, who just recently cleared COVID-19 protocol after returning to the Portland market earlier this week, Zach Collins (left ankle), and Rodney Hood will not play against the Kings as he continues to work on his conditioning coming back from his torn Achilles injury.

Coach Stotts said that players would not exceed 25 minutes of play during the first exhibition game.
