The NBA is working through its updated schedule.
Game 5 between the Portland Trail Blazers and Los Angeles Lakers reportedly will be rescheduled for Saturday, that’s according to Tania Ganguli of the Los Angeles Times. There is still no reported tip-off time set for the game yet, but it will air on NBCSNW.
NBA players took a unified stand on Wednesday afternoon after the Milwaukee Bucks decided to boycott Game 5.
The decision was then made to postpone all three scheduled NBA games Wednesday as the players protested in the wake of the Jacob Blake shooting in Wisconsin last weekend. Blake, a 29-year-old black man from Kenosha, Wisconsin, was shot in the back seven times by a white police officer.
Now that the players voted to resume play, both Wednesday and Thursdays slate of games are going to need to be rescheduled.
The dates and times should be finalized later today, per ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski.
The Trail Blazers, who will be without Damian Lillard after he left the Orlando Bubble Thursday morning to have his injured knee further examined in Portland, is facing a 3-1 deficit to the Lakers.
Trail Blazers head coach Terry Stotts is still optimistic that his team is up for the challenge when they take the court Saturday.
