One of the best guard matchups to go at one another in the entirety of the NBA is Damian Lillard and Russell Westbrook.

Unfortunately for NBA fans, we’ll now see less of this matchup for the foreseeable future.

On Wednesday, ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski reported that Westbrook has been traded to the Washington Wizards in exchange for John Wall and a first-round pick.

It is always a good time to bring up what Lillard did to Westbrook and the Oklahoma City franchise back in 2019…

And then of course Lillard’s first career triple-double (36 points, 10 rebounds and 11 assists) came against the Houston Rockets last season.

It’s well known in Rip City that Lillard owns the matchup over Westbrook.

So much so that Rip City took to social media following the news of Westbrook’s trade highlighting the fact that Westbrook didn’t want to deal with Dame several times a year in the Western Conference anymore.

True? Perhaps…
